Playing piano and parking voucher

Well, I feel like I’ve finally redeemed myself after getting fired from that restaurant.
I played for the cocktail hour this weekend. My main comment: IT WAS LOUD!! The piano had a mic, and I was playing as loudly as I could, and I could still barely hear myself.
One thing that’s weird about this type of playing is that there’s not much obvious feedback until it’s too late. At the restaurant, I got tips and a couple compliments, and then I get fired. Saturday night, I had no one paying attention to me, and as I got up to leave, the mother of the bride told me how much everybody just loved it, and it was wonderful, and she got me a twenty.
So there you have it.
Oh, a piece of advice: If you ever play at a hotel, make sure you ask for a parking voucher in advance. The parking garage cost $18!
