Chopin piano competition winner to perform in Vietnam (Nhân Dân)
Nhan Dan Online- Nicolas Stavy, the famous French pianist, will feature in a special recital at the French Cultural Centre, L’Espace at 24 Trang Tien Street Hanoi on April 12.
During his performance at L’Espace, he will play some works by Chopin, Schumann, Bach and Liszt.
Stavy is known as a unique pianist and a genuine vocal talent, which The World Music Magazine, Le Monde de la Musique, described as the key to opening the door to Chopin’s emotional art.
Stavy won the Special Prize at the 2000 Chopin competition in Warsaw, the second prize at the 2001 Geneva International competition, fourth prize at the 2002 Gina Bachauer competition in the US and second prize at the 2003 Young Concert Artists in New York.
He has performed on many pretigious international stage such as La Roque d’Antheron Festival, Wissembourg International Music Festival, EuroArt Praha Festival and had recitals with Romande Orchestra, Utah Symphony Orchestra, Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra, Belgorod Philharmonic Orchestra etc.
