What Kind Of Piano Should I Buy?
I know for sure I can’t buy a grand piano, because of the money, and the space. I move around a lot, and all I’m looking for is a good piano, but what kind? Keyboard (Synth) , or Digital Keyboard? Thanks! =]

Actually, if you move around a lot, it might be best to look into a good quality electronic piano. When I was in college, I moved from the dorm rooms to various apartments, and when I changed schools and entered new music programs, I had to move to other states. On a student budget, it would have been impossible for me to afford a piano mover each time, and dorm rooms and apartments wouldn’t allow any "real" pianos because the landlord was afraid the neighbors would complain. Electronic pianos have plugs for earphones, so the neighbors can’t complain about the noise. Also electronic keyboards are now weighted (in touch and action) similarly to grand pianos, so it will not destroy your technique. After finishing my Ph.D. in music, I now have a grand piano, but I still use my electronic piano to practice on when traveling. It can be taken apart, put in the backseat of my car, and set up anywhere.
A professional electronic piano can sound incredibly good. We have a family member who has had two of these so far.
I think if you want to buy a keyboard you should buy a digital one…I have been playing piano for 3 years with a really good teacher…She says it is better to buy a piano because you can use dynamics better and piano has more stuff than keyboards and has many many better things.Yet a digital keyboard has other sounds you could use but if you should get a piano i would suggest an upright…my teacher says an upright piano is really good because it is good priced and is much smaller than a grand piano…uprights make better quality sounds than other types of pianos…(:
definatley, if you can try to buy a real piano vs. a digital one. It doesn’t have to be a grand it can be an upright of a studio. I wouldn’t recomend a console because they tend to go out of tune really quickley. Some good makers are: Stienway, Boston, Seiler, Petrof, Mason and Hamlin.
Try to stay away from chinese, japanese of korean brands nameley: yamaha, kawai, pearl river, rittmuler, suzuki, hyundai ect.
if you are planning on going far with piano, look into a baby grand.
that is what i got after my first keyboard and i LOVE it.
but uprights are great too.
if you are looking into getting into other sounds on a keyboard then an electric piano is great.
i recently got an electric keyboard and its fantastic.
just look around, and keep your eye out for good prices!
I wish I had neighbor who play the grand piano it seem to be a lost form of entertainment. Now that I’m at age I dislike the top 20 billboard music. I love classical and find it very enjoyable especially during traffic. Less road rage too. I agree though a eletronic piano would be best in situation. My sister plays the guitar and she already find it a hassle to bring back and forth from San Diego to Los Angeles.
