Playing piano at Wedding cocktail

I played for a wedding ceremony about two weeks ago. They requested I play “All You Need is Love” by The Beatles as the 8 bridesmaids came down the aisle. I thought that was odd, but it seemed to work. (I got that job from Party Pop.)
I got a call last night to do a wedding ceremony in February. They said they will call me back in a few days. (Got this one through Party Pop too.) The woman was practically shocked at how low my price was ($250). Maybe that’s a sign that I should raise it …
I had photo postcards made — 2,000 postcards for $400. Over the last month I’ve been addressing 185 of them to wedding planners, catering directors, etc. They are all addressed and stamped and ready to go. I’m going to drop them in the mail the first week in October, right before people start planning holiday stuff. They I’ll re-address another batch next spring.
Do you remember how I played for a performance of Godspell last year? Well, it was a new theatre company and that was their first musical. They are getting ready to do their second musical next month, and I am VERY disappointed that they have not contacted me. I left a few messages this summer saying I had a great time last year and would love to play for them again, but no one ever got back to me. I’m kind of hurt, surprised, and disappointed. Playing for show hardly pays, but it is SOO much fun!
